Jenni Marsh
Coordinator, National/International Scholarships and Fellowships
Jenni Marsh joined the Honors College Staff in June 2006 as National/International Scholarships Coordinator. She provides guidance and advice to students preparing to compete for over 20 major scholarship and fellowship competitions, organizes the campus application and interview processes, presents informational sessions to students and faculty regarding the scholarships and their importance, collaborates with other university scholarship offices, and maintains contact with the fellowship organizations and scholarship foundations.
Raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Jenni graduated from Marquette Senior High School and was a Rotary Youth Exchange Student from the Marquette Breakfast Rotary Club to Machala, Ecuador, South America's“ Banana Capital of the World. After returning from Ecuador, she received her BA in Spanish and Natural Sciences from Alma College, as well as a Michigan secondary teaching certificate. She taught both high school and middle school Spanish and science classes in the Detroit suburbs for almost 10 years. She earned an MPA (public administration; educational leadership) from the University of Michigan.
Anyone who knows Jenni would say that traveling and culture is her true passion. She has led educational travel opportunities for students in Europe and Latin America, studied abroad in Ecuador for nearly two years, and continues to enjoy traveling. She is also an avid football fan(Go Packers!), enjoys reading, theatre and art, and outdoor activities like camping, hiking and kayaking. Jenni and her husband, Tim live in Dexter, Michigan, and enjoy walks on their property with their daughter and their Dalmatian/Lab mix.
